The Team That Brought The SLHappys To Life: Casey Costner & Terry Dunning

Terry Dunning & Casey Costner met in Allegan, Michigan and started dating the week of Valentine's Day 2017. By November of that year, they moved to Colorado (first Colorado Springs, then Denver). It was during the early days of the Sport when both developed an interest in Slap Fighting. At the time, Terry was doing podcasting, covering all kinds of topics, when he reached out to Ron (Wolverine) Bata for an interview.

With Power Slap in the early stages of putting together a promotion, Terry and Casey decided to move to Las Vegas to be closer to this sport, gambling everything they had on this move. With just under 2K, Terry, Casey, and family arrived in Las Vegas on June 6th, 2023, and eventually transformed his podcast exclusively into Slap Fight Coverage, covering the sport as a whole rather than any 1 promotion.

After repeated attempts by his competition in coverage of the sport to get Terry's Podcast (Now named Beyond The Slap) cancelled, Terry not only survived the cancellation attempts, He came out a trusted and respected source of information to the Slap Fight community, but it didn't stop there.

Terry didn't just want to fit in; he needed to stand out, and after everyone criticised him for his full coverage on all Continents of the sport, he used that to stand above his Ops, as Beyond The Slap was the ONLY platform with a footing (and respect) in every Slap Fight Promotion across the globe.

In 2025, Terry decided to honour those who dedicate so much to the sport by hosting the First-Ever International Slap Fight Award ceremony, the SLHappy Awards.
